What a joy it was to join Joshua Berson in shooting this year's CUPE Ontario Convention! As always the priority was capturing key moments and processing on site to deliver hero images for real-time social posts and releases on all their official channels.
A few key highlights:
This year's convention was historic. With the election of Yolanda McClean as president and Dawn Bellerose as Secretary-Treasurer, it's the beginning of an exciting new era for CUPE Ontario.
Avi Lewis, newly elected leader of the federal NDP came to address delegates. It was very inspiring and hopeful to hear him speak to affordability, putting people ahead of corporate profits and building an economy that works for everyone.
CUPE Ontario joined the Ontario Health Coalition rally to send a clear message: stop the privatization of Ontario's hospitals and fund public healthcare. At full swing, this march was HUGE with other unions like OPSEU, ONA, Unifor and many more coming together to show solidarity for fair compensation of healthcare workers and protect public healthcare.
