I’ll admit that before spending four busy days photographing this gathering, I couldn’t fully wrap my head around what exactly Zonta International was or how it worked. But with each day of convention, I learned more about Zonta’s incredible 107-year history of service, advocacy, and fellowship.
I realized it’s hard to distill Zonta into just a few short sentences because their history is so rich, their projects are so varied, and their global network is vast. To sustain an organization for over a century while continuing to expand globally(65 countries and counting) is no small feat.
I walked away with deep respect and admiration for their enduring efforts to build a better world for women and girls both locally and internationally. The strongest thread I observed throughout the convention, and one of Zonta’s greatest strengths: friendship. Connection and fellowship bringing people together to advocate for women’s rights, educational equality, and ending gender-based violence.
A huge thank you to the Zonta team for having me on board to document this wonderful biennial gathering. It was a true pleasure!
